It started out in the Expanded Universe, but was actually made canon by virtue of the Outrider’s appearance in the Special Edition of Episode IV. Probably the next most famous YT-series freighter is the YT-2400.
We also know that it will appear in Episode VII with a new, lower-profile sensor dish to replace the one that was lost at the Battle of Endor. It appears in all three Original Trilogy films where it is Han Solo’s ship (and it’s mentioned that it used to be Lando’s), as well as making a cameo in Episode III.
Possibly the most iconic ship of the entire Star Wars series is the Millennium Falcon, a highly modified YT-1300. I’ll do all the canon examples above the cut this week, so the post isn’t obnoxiously long above the cut and, as an added bonus, there’s a really easy way to tell what’s canon and what isn’t.
No idea what I’m talking about? Maybe this will sound more familiar: the Millennium Falcon. This week, let’s take a look at another of the most iconic types of ship, the Corellian YT-series freighter.
